With 'Shadows' the Massachusetts apocalyptic doom crust metal monolith have delivered their most engaging album to date. A much darker and more introspective sonic monolith than their previous releases, namely their 'Untold Wait' debut and its 'Asylum' successor, 'Shadows' sees MORNE create a much more doomier and introspective work. More brooding, melodic, while bringing the heaviness factor to a new level, 'Shadows' is an album that harnesses an uncanny atmosphere. While more introverted and more stripped down, yet still encapsulating a vast and mighty sound picture, 'Shadows' still presents itself as the soundtrack to where we witness oceans engulfing entire cities and leaving entire wastelands barren and desolate.
