Hailing from the Boston hardcore scene, FINAL GASP explore its dark underbelly with a thoroughly throttling sound equal parts classic deathrock and Samhain-informed post-punk. Indeed, the parallels to the almighty Samhain are uncanny, but FINAL GASP's iteration is so authentic and so engaging, resistance is simply futile. Not for nothing, then, did FINAL GASP's debut EP, Baptism of Desire, become such a hotly desired record back during its original cassette release in 2019. At last, it receives the vinyl treatment, and as a special bonus, this 10" vinyl edition will include a VHS tape of the band's 2020 Halloween show alongside High Command. Dark post-punk has been on the rise for the past decade, but few bands evoke that November coming fire quite like FINAL GASP! Recommended for fans of Samhain - of course! - but also Dystopian Society, Lost Tribe, Horror Vacui, Annex, and Haldol.
