When the talk is about high quality 1980s metal, the US band SAVAGE GRACE has a truly legendary reputation. The band's releases belong to the basis of every reasonable metal collection. However, in the new millenium it has become increasingly difficult to find works by the legendary West Coast band. Now and again one may spot an album on vinyl for sale, but it is almost impossible to find official released on CDs. But because the band recently confirmed a performance for the upcoming, 13th "Keep It True" Festival, an official re-release of both their albums with bonus material was an excellent idea. Limb Music got to work and has produced superb re-releases, which more than justify the phenomena known as SAVAGE GRACE. Now, in 2010 this musical masterpiece is re-appearing in high class form. "Master Of Disguise" and "The Dominatress" have been completely remixed and remastered, making the old material sound truly heavy and as clear as a bell. Speed grenades like "Bound To Be Free", "No One Left To Blame", "Sins Of The Damned" and the title track "Master Of Disguise" roll over the listener with razor sharp riffs and a speed, together with fantastic melodic lines, that simply cannot be re-created today. The five songs of the "The Dominatress" EP are rawer but truly demonstrate the level at which the band found itself in 1983. As a bonus track on this brilliant re-release, there is "Scepters Of Deceit" from the "Metal Massacre II" compilation, an audible example of SAVAGE GRACE very early days. Without wanting to repeat ourselves, it is all simply power, speed and harmony, perfectly united - Speed Metal with finely tuned melodies of the very highest quality. SAVAGE GRACE set standards, which have never been reached again since.
