With the ambition to create their own musical form, Swedish band el Camino drew up their guidelines in the winter of 2002/03. In the beginning the ideas where many but after a while things started to take its course. The offspring that could be heard was a form of heavy rock music with the strength and elements of doom. The very idea and foundation of el Camino consists of a call to compose heavy music, inspired by cultural, musical, occult and historical elements that isn't limited by either genres or other unwritten laws.
"- the way is so to say, winding, as above so below while we create"
During the early days the band did several gigs at festivals, pubs and rock clubs in the local surroundings and there was never really an idea of putting the pressure on for further activities. The main reason for this was that several members had obligations in other projects and el Camino was more considered as a haven for darker duties. In 2008, different reasons led to the departure of the bands original drummer and with the replacement done, el Camino felt something of a rebirth. With this come the opportunity to reveal some older material that had been put on hold under dust for years. The foundation and the very ground that el Camino was built upon felt stronger than ever and the Satanik Magiik demo was a fact. A digipack mcd with four songs of pure malevolence recorded at the Hobo Records studio in late 2009. This led el Camino on to further gigs and gave good response from both domestic and foreign listeners. Shortly after this release el Camino joined forces with Night Tripper Records and the unholy communion was a fact.
During February of 2011 el Camino recorded their debut and full-length album The Satanik Magiik, again under the supervising of U. Blomberg at Hobo Rec. The Satanik Magiik holds a running time of 45 minutes, available on CD and 12" vinyl presented by Night Tripper Records. This work should be considered as a statement to support the nameless entity, lurking in the black shadow_ ready to strike.
