When it comes to extreme music the name Belphegor can't be missing. For more than ten year, the Austrians have stirred up both the Death and Black Metal underground and outlive themselves with every new album. The latest product from the pest house got the name "Pestapokalypse VI" burnt into its flesh and blows the listener away with nine merciless neck killers. Responsible for the impenetrable sound walls is the collaboration with producer Andy Classen, and also Helmuth's vocals leave no questions unanswered. Here and there, you get some atmospheric moments only to immediately drown in the drumfires afterwards. Alone by its more moderate pace, the catchy "Bluhthsturm Erotika" could please less battle experienced ears, too, and seems predestined for a hit. If you feel you're not strong enough for this, hide immediately for the death machine prepares for the attack! -- Lisa Hofer
